Hou Yi shot down nine suns to relieve people's crisis, but he was exiled from the Heavnly Court by the Jade Emperor . Hou Yi indulged himself in drinking , eating, and having fun in the human world. He decided he wanted to be immortal so he asked the Queen Mother and got two elixirs. His wife Chang'e was worried that if her husband became immortal, he would do more bad things, so she swallowed both elixirs and flew into the sky and lived in the moon palace.
